Seasonal Scavenger Hunts!
The Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve (JCNERR) is one of the 29 National Estuarine Research Reserves created to promote the responsible use and management of the nation's estuaries through a program combining scientific research, education, and stewardship. The JCNERR encompasses approximately 116,000 acres in southeastern New Jersey, including a great variety of terrestrial, wetland and aquatic habitats within the Mullica River-Great Bay ecosystem. The Reserve is a concentrated patchwork of federal and state lands managed in partnership through a variety of agencies.
Dress for the weather, because JCNERR has seasonal fun coming your way that you don't want to miss! Enjoy a Seasonal Scavenger Hunt that features plants and critters that you are likely to spot during that season!
Head out on an Autumn Adventures Scavenger Hunt! Though it may seem a bit quiet along the trail during the cooler months, there are still a lot of cool critters and plants to spot. Some are even easier to spot in the bare trees (Hint: If you spot one it will sure be a hoot!).
Check out the Scavenger Hunt card here!
You can also play a fun Bingo game!
If you venture out onto the JCNERR trail to participate in the scavenger hunt, please be sure not to venture off the trail or disturb an critters or plants you spot.
Bundle up, and have fun!
