Do your kids love to sing, dance around the house, and get everybody's attention? Want your kids to have fun on stage and learn about musical theater? Surflight Theatre's Musical Theatre Programs are just what you're looking for! Set in beautiful Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, Surflight offers a unique opportunity for local kids to learn about acting, singing, and dancing at a professional theater! This is an experience they will never forget. Campers will study scenes and songs from musicals, they'll dance, and experience "Broadway at the Beach."
Two Options: Teen Program and Youth Musical Theatre Program
Location: Surflight Theatre, 201 Engleside Ave., Beach Haven
The Teen Program runs from July 7 - 20, from 8am - 10am, for ages 13 - 17 years old. Participants will develop their own unique creative voices by exploring the crafts of acting, singing, and dancing. Through different types of improvisation, theatre games, and character development, students gain poise and learn movement, speaking, and acting skills. The week culminates in a short presentation of a musical showcase!
Fee: $500 for two week program.
The Musical Theatre Program is for kids aged 6 - 12, and each session runs for one week. Choose from July 21 - 27; August 4 - 10; and August 18 - 24, or choose a combination or all three! All sessions are from 8am - 10am and include acting, singing, dancing, and learning about the discipline of performing. Students will participate in theatre games, learn how to develop their character and how to improvise on stage. At the end of each session there will be a short presentation of a musical showcase!
Fee: $285 per session.
