Sky Zone in Lakewood recently hosted my Mini Mac's birthday party and we all had a blast! The franchise, that opened in April 2015, offers a leaping fun time for people of all ages (If you can walk, you can jump!). I had gotten in touch with Sky Zone's General Manager, Leanne Barenbaum, to talk about the options available for birthday parties, and was excited to learn about all they have to offer!

Parties can range from 60 to 90 minutes of jump time in the main Freestyle Jump area, Foam Zone, Skyslam (basketball-style), and Ultimate Dodgeball and Volleyball areas. Also included is 40 minutes in a party room, pizza, drinks, invitations, special jumping socks, and your own personal party host to make it a fun day! You can add on an additional half hour of jump time for just $5 per jumper! They accommodate parties of all sizes and ages. I decided to add on the Private Dodgeball Court so the kids could have an area just for themselves for more of a party feel.
Once everything was settled, it was just a matter of providing a final number of guests prior to the party. Sky Zone does require a waiver to be filled out by each guest, that can be completed online. You can bring in decorations for the party room, a cake (they even have a freezer for ice cream cakes!), and candles. The staff serves up the pizza and cake and provides plates, napkins, cups, and utensils.
Party Options Include:
- Jump Around Package for up to 10 jumpers that includes 1 hour of jump time, 40 minutes in the party room, 2 party pizzas, and 2 unlimited pitchers of soft drinks. This package starts at $280 and is $28 for every additional jumper.
- Super Jump Package is the same as the Jump Around, except it is for 90 minutes of jump time and starts at $290 and is $29 for every additional jumper.
- Supreme Air Package is for 15 jumpers, 1 hour of jump time, 40 minutes in the party room, 3 party pizzas, 2 unlimited soft drinks, and a private court for your entire party to jump in! This package starts at $450 and is $30 for every additional jumper.
After arriving and getting cool orange socks (regulation for jumping), we gathered in the bleachers to await our party host. Containers were brought to store coats, shoes, and presents, so that we didn't have to carry everything around, which I thought was a huge help! The rules were reviewed and the kids were off to jump, flip, and tumble throughout the building!
Most of the kids headed to the Private Dodgeball Court, while others tried their hand at slamming some hoops and flopping into the Foam Zone. Our host, Sam, showed me and other parents around the facility and I was amazed at the sheer size of it! The jumping areas are huge and well-padded, and the foam pits allowed a big age range to enjoy their soft landings, from little ones to adults. The Private Dodgeball Courts allow guests to have a place where they know it'll just be friends, so they can play however they want. Lots of high flying and flips were happening when I checked in on everyone. Since they didn't want to stop moving, I had to judge by the happy yells and huge grins to determine how awesome a time the kids were having.
In addition, there's a food court on the main floor, and on the upper level that overlooks the main jumping area are comfortable couches and massage chairs for those needing a break (especially the parents!), as well as free WiFi. As soon as we got to this area, many of the parents decided to take some time for themselves, while the kids were having a blast literally bouncing off the walls!
After jumping, leaping, flipping, and playing, it was time to head into the party area on the upper level, where our party host had everything well in hand, getting drinks and pizza handed out. One parent was so happy, because the host even made sure her child got a certain piece of cake, because of an allergy to food dye. When I asked how everyone liked the party, there was a resoundingly positive response! "Best party ever! I'm having a great time! It's a blast!" were just some of the shouts from the kids. The parents were discussing how nice it was to have everything set up, no clean up after, and exhausted kids. I loved how easy having a terrific party was for me, so effortless but with lots of fun for everyone! When the birthday girl told me that this was the best birthday party she'd ever had, I was basking in the glory.
I got the chance to find out about what else Sky Zone Lakewood has to offer from Leanne, the General Manager. "We have our regular open jump which can be purchased anytime we are open! We also offer our Sky Swag which is a program where each month we pick a different charity to donate to. We sell a package that comes with a 90-minute jump time, a limited edition T-shirt with the name of that month's charity, a bottle of water, a bracelet, and a 30 minute pass for future use. Part of the proceeds for each Sky Swag sold gets donated to the charity. Little ones can have fun at Toddler Time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, 10am-12pm. We also have character Toddler Time days that we announce on our social media!
We believe in healthy active fun for the whole family, so as long as you can walk, you can jump! At Sky Zone Lakewood, you can bounce and flip in our main court area, where we separate jumpers by age and height. We have 3 dodgeball courts so all ages can play their own games! We also have 3 different-sized basketball hoops so kids and adults can dunk like they were in the NBA. Last but not least, we have our awesome foam zone where you can do some intense tricks and land in a soft pile of foam cubes!
