Welcome to Macaroni Kid Southern Ocean County! Yes, Macaroni Kid Southern Ocean County is a terrific weekly e-newsletter that lists local family-friendly events and activities, but did you know there is more to our website? This article provides information to help you become familiar with and get the most from our site. Even though you see the title “Little Egg Harbor” above, we cover Southern Ocean County from Lacey down to New Gretna and out to Long Beach Island.
A is for ARTICLES: With your FREE subscription to Macaroni Kid Southern Ocean County, you will receive a weekly email with all the family-friendly events and activities happening in our community from me, the publisher of Macaroni Kid Southern Ocean County. The email will be sent from lucillep@macaronikid.com (to ensure you receive our newsletter please add this address to your address book). Each week a current newsletter is sent to your inbox. We cover topics such as safety, recipes, crafts, and family tips for children of any age. You will find giveaways and contests here as well. Feel free to scroll through the articles or use the Table of Contents on the left-hand side. When you want to view more of an article, click on the pink READ MORE button and you will be able to read the entire article. Because there is so much information in the newsletter, sometimes it will get clipped in your email. Please check out the website for all of the great information for that week. We have a Teen Section to keep the older kids busy too and our Plan Ahead section will keep you organized for weeks ahead.
There are several national newsletters available (Family Travel, National Newsletter, Macaroni Kid Eats, Family Wellness, and Babies & Tots) and you can change your subscription preferences any time by re-entering your information in the subscribe form, as long as you use the same email address as the original subscription. (If you need to change the newsletter subscriptions AND email address, you can reply to the newsletter for all.) I am also happy to help if you need it!

B is for BUSINESSES and our BIRTHDAY CLUB: Macaroni Kid is brought to you FREE thanks to our business sponsors. Every ad that is submitted is reviewed and approved before being placed online. Most of our business ads are clickable and take you to their website. Our Biz Directory provides full information on businesses in the area. The directory is divided into helpful categories so you can find whatever you might need quickly. The information provided includes the name of the business, category, address, phone number, website, cost, and even a map to help get you there! Remember to tell them you heard about them on Macaroni Kid!

C is for CALENDAR: There is no need to spend hours online looking up events. Just go to our Calendar and there you will find affordable family activities. If you want to view events for a specific day of the month, just click on "view more" and you can get all the listings for that day. To find out all the information about a certain event, click on "more info" and you will get the entire listing. The pink "My Macaroni" button that appears above the contents list on the homepage is my favorite feature! You can click the plus sign (Add to My Macaroni) under any event listing and after you've selected all of the events that you are interested in, click the "My Macaroni" button on the homepage and it will show your list, you can download everything to a pdf that you can save and/or print to take with you! This is a great and super easy function to keep track of all the events that you want to attend. Do you know of a great free or low cost, local event for families that isn't listed, just click on the Submit an Event button and it may be added to our calendar.
SEARCH: In the top right-hand corner is a little white box that comes in handy when looking for that recipe that you want to find or an article you forgot to read or want to reference again. Type in a keyword or two and search for it to see if you can find it quickly.
FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, and TWITTER: Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for between newsletter updates. Make sure to "like" our Facebook page and you can find out about events that might come in after the newsletter is published and special contests and news. I'm still learning about Twitter but it's a wonderful place to share ideas. TRAVELING: If you are away on business, vacation or visiting friends in another city, make use of more than 500 Macaroni Kid sites throughout the country to see what is going on wherever you are! Simply go to national.macaronikid.com and choose the state you will be visiting and the drop down will show all the choices available.
