The Fresh Beat Band Greatest Hits Live Presented by Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon’s preschool music group and stars of the Emmy Award-winning TV series of the same name, The Fresh Beat Band, came to Toms River last weekend and we got the chance to see the band in action!  When Kiki, Marina, Twist & Shout hit the stage, the audience was ready to rock.  From the dance moves, to the instruments, and the mix of songs they played, The Fresh Beats had everyone singing and dancing from the start.

I admit that I sang along to the tunes, with such classics like "Walk Like an Egyptian", and the show originals "Go Bananas," "Great Day," and "Here We Go."  The kids were up dancing throughout the show, singing and waving their arms in the air to the beat of the music.  The Band was asking questions of the audience, held a shouting contest, and introduced their new animated series and sidekick, Bo.

When Kiki brought out her violin, my daughter was going crazy and shouting, "Kiki's my favorite!"  I loved the fact that she got to watch one of the band members playing a classical instrument in a modern, fun song.  The kids loved that they got to go up to the edge of the stage and even to shake Shout's and Kiki's hands!  The excitement and energy of the kids definitely got the parents moving and having a great time as well.  My daughter said she loved the show and had the best time ever!

Nickelodeon is currently in production on Fresh Beat Band of Spies, a brand-new animated preschool series based on the hit live-action show, The Fresh Beat Band.  In the new series, Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer), Marina (Tara Perry), Twist (Jon Beavers) and Shout (Thomas Hobson) are bandmates and also undercover spies.  The pop band uses their individual talents and the coolest transforming spy gadgets to outwit a goofy cast of bad guys and solve wild and wacky mysteries.  The series, which teaches problem-solving to preschoolers, is created by Nadine van der Velde and Scott Kraft (The Fresh Beat Band).  Fresh Beat Band of Spies will premiere in 2015.
